Some of Jun Kaneko’s largest triangle-shaped Dangos have now successfully been bisque fired. These pieces were built in 2020 and have spent the past year and a half slowly drying. They are 10′ 6” tall and an estimated 2-3,000 lbs. Originally built to 11′ (before shrinking during the drying and firing process), these forms approach the maximum height for the S. 20th Street studio’s large gas kiln. The bisque firing process lasted for 24 days.
